BCCI took part in the April plenary session of the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels
The Vice-President of BCCI Georgi Stoev took part in the April plenary session of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) which was held on 22 – 23 April 2015 in Brussels. The session began with a debate on the Energy Union presented by Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Energy Union and continued with a debate on trade policy and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and a presentation of the EU’s economic priorities in the coming years.
Georgi Stoev participated in the debates and the adoption of the opinions regarding the work in section Transport, Energy and Infrastructure. The Roadmap to a single European transport area, the implications of climate and energy policy on agricultural and forestry sectors and other issues were discussed.
In the Foreign Policy section an opinion on the role of civil society in EU-Albania relations was presented.
After the plenary session a meeting of the representatives of employers’ organizations and a session of the EUROCHAMBRES Trade and Investment Committee were held, during which the Vice-President of BCCI Georgi Stoev was re-elected as Chairman of the Trade and Investment Committee. Mr. Stoev informed the participants about upcoming events on the occasion of the 120th anniversary later this year and presented the management of EUROCHAMBRES with an invitation on behalf of the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov.
