Delegation from Uzbekistan visited BCCI

Construction, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, food processing machines, hoisting and hauling equipment – sectors with potential for cooperation




A delegation from Uzbekistan with the participation of Kamoliddin N. Ishankhodjaev - Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Interethnic Relations and Friendly Cooperation with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shokir Jumaevich Juraev - Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and representatives of the newly-established Bulgarian-Uzbek Business Council at BCCI met with the Secretary General of the BCCI Vasil Todorov.

The economic relations between Bulgaria and Uzbekistan have a good basis in view of the acting Interdepartmental Bulgarian-Uzbek Commission for Economic and Scientific Technical Cooperation, the active work of the Commercial and Economic Section of the Bulgarian Embassy in Tashkent, as well as the signed cooperation agreements between BCCI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the National Foreign Economic Informational Commercial Center "UZINKOMCENTER" and the Chamber of Commodity Producers and Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting it became clear that there are 15 Bulgarian companies operating in Uzbekistan, two of which are with entirely Bulgarian capital. In the country there are 18 free economic zones, 7 of which are specialized in the pharmaceutical sector.

Construction, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, machine-building for the food industry, hoisting and hauling equipment, and agriculture were outlined as sectors with potential for development of future business contacts.
