BCCI and the Bulgarian – Japanese Economic Council hosted welcomed a delegation from Japan-Southeast Europe Business Association (JSEEBA). The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Takashi Koizumi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Bulgaria.
Ohno Yoshinori, Honorary Chairman of JSEEBA outlined the goals of the Association, whose aim is to promote and develop cooperation between Japan and the countries from Southeast Europe. He stressed the traditionally good relationships between Bulgaria and Japan.
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov presented the advantages of Bulgaria as a good place for investmens and the relations with Japan as an important economic partner in the region of Southeast Asia. He noted the Chamber’s excellent cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Sofia, as well as its efforts to expand its partnership with other organizations in order to intensify bilateral trade and economic relations. The President of BCCI said that there is а growing tendency for companies and institutions which need to cover more than one country in the Balkans to choose Sofia for their primary place of business.
The Japanese guests expressed interest in Bulgaria’s social and tax policy. Mining industry, infrastructure and cosmetics were outlined as sectors for potential cooperation.
Ambassador Koizumi said that cooperation between the Chamber and JSEEBA would be extremely perspective and advantageous for businesses from both countries.
