The Ambassador of the Philippines visited BCCI
At the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry a meeting was held between the Vice-President of BCCI Georgi Stoev and the Ambassador of the Philippines in Hungary, accredited to Bulgaria H.E. Mme. Eleanor Jaucian, the First Secretary and Consul General of the Embassy of the Philippines Ms. Patricia Barrera, Mr. Ognian Trajanov, Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of Bulgaria and Ms. Milena Mileva, Expert in the Consulate of the Philippines to Bulgaria.
Georgi Stoev introduced the guests to the main activities of the Chamber related to the functioning of its Trade Register, Arbitration Court and its membership in various international organizations. In the course of discussion, Ambassador Jaucian was advised of opportunities provided to foreign investors from third countries under the European Union scientific research and innovation framework programme Horizon 2020*.
It was agreed that Ms. Patricia Barrera will inform the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines about the meeting held at BCCI in order to further the cooperation between the two chambers and inform the business community about economic opportunities in both countries.
Ambassador Jaucian shared her thoughts on the development of the bilateral relations. The market of the Philippines with population of around 100 million people is attractive to companies from various sectors of Bulgarian industry.
Ognian Trajanov pointed out the well-functioning system for education of qualified medical specialists, who are able to work in the EU under a number of programmes, including in Bulgaria.

Most EU research funding is allocated on the basis of competitive calls, but the budget for Horizon includes funding also for the Joint Research Centre, the European Commission's in-house science service; the European Institute for Innovation and Technology and research carried out within the framework of the Euratom Treaty
