The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences awarded Belgian diplomat H.E. Philippe Beke with Honorary Sign for Merits

Belgium’s former Ambassador to our country H.E. Philippe Beke was awarded with Honorary Sign for Merits and a Diploma by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He was honored at an official ceremony in the BAS headquarters by the President of the Academy Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov. Among the official guests to the event were H.E. Mme. Anick Van Calster, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Frank Jansen – President of the Belgium - Bulgaria - Luxembourg Business Club, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov, Prof. Krastyo Petkov – Representative of the Club for Friendship between Bulgaria and Belgium, former ministers, public figures, scientists and the management of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. 
 
Upon presenting H.E. Philippe Beke with the award, Acad. Vodenicharov thanked him for his contribution to expanding the cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Belgian research centers and for his input to the development of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Belgium. 
 
H.E. Philippe Beke thanked for the honour and expressed confidence that the Bulgarian – Belgian relations have good traditions and will continue to expand in the field of economy, technical cooperation, cultural relations and exchange of scientists. He stressed that Bulgaria has plenty of opportunities and needs to step forward.  H.E. Philippe Beke declared readiness to support the partnership between the two countries with his future work and to help implement joint projects and programmes. 
 
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov presented H.E. Philippe Beke with the silver jubilee medal made on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Bulgaria.
