BCCI attended the EESC July Plenary Session in Brussels



Vice President of the BCCI Georgi Stoev attended the July Plenary Session of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) that took place on 9-10 July 2014 in Brussels. 
 
The Debate on Completing Economic and Monetary Union was attended by the former French Minister for Economic Affairs Edmond Alphandéry, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Peter Bofinger - member of the German Council of Economic Experts, representatives of employers’ organisations and trade unions. 
 
During the Plenary Session Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Gerontopoulos took stock of the Greek Presidency of the EU Council, and Italian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Sandro Gozi presented the priorities of the Italian presidency-in-office of the Council of the European Union.
 
During the session a wide range of topics and documents were discussed, such as the proposal for a Directive on the activities and supervision of the institutions for occupational pension provision, the policy on Internet and its management, the cyber attacks in the EU, the state of the digital society. Subject to discussions were also the new EU strategy on forests, the programme for clean air of Europe, a roadmap for completing the single market on deliveries of parcels, the European immigration policy and relations with third countries and others.
