Meeting with Brazilian Partners at BCCI
The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov met with the Honorary Consul of Bulgaria to Brazil, Mr. Joao Vaz and the Executive Director of the Brazilian Shared Environmental Responsibility Program, Mr. Andre Luis Saraiva.
Mr. Saraiva presented the Program which aims at developing green industry – environmentally friendly manufacturing, which is an element of corporate social responsibility. The Program seeks to encourage rational consumption of non-renewable natural resources, thus reducing environmental damage.
Mr. Simeonov shared the position of BCCI and its members on the matter and emphasized that the Chamber supports the special attitude towards the environment in Bulgaria, including as part of corporate social responsibility. However, a balance should be sought when regulating burdens on companies and employers.
During the meeting it was agreed to present the Brazilian Shared Environmental Responsibility Program during the BIO & ECO Expo, which will take place on 16 September 2011, at 4 p.m. in the National Palace of Culture. Besides, meetings with interested Bulgarian organizations will be organized on 19 September at BCCI.
