BCCI represented Bulgarian employers at the regional IOE meeting in Riga

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov was a representative of the Bulgarian employers at the regional meeting of the International Organization of Employers (IOE) for Europe and Central Asia, which was held in Riga on 13-14 September.

The event, opened by the President of the International Organization of Employers (IOE) Mr. Erol Kiresepi and hosted by the Employers' Confederation of Latvia, is a forum for exchanging ideas for improvement of the labour market in line with industrial reforms, with a global aim of sustainable growth.

During the meeting, the IOE priorities for 2018 – 2019 were discussed:

• Promoting an enabling environment for enterprises;
• Strengthening independent and representative employers’ organizations;
• Preserving the development of diverse forms of work to optimize job creation;
• Improving skills development;
• Regulating migration and improving integration policies.

BCCI will take over the presidency of the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE) next year and the meeting is a preparatory one for the initiatives that Bulgarian employers will undertake in line with the reforms of the labour market, bringing employers’ organizations closer to the companies they represent, and promoting youth employment and entrepreneurship.
