Participation of the social partners in events of the calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU
BCCI took part in a meeting of the nationally representative employers’ organisations and trade unions with Deputy Minister Zornitsa Rusinova. The participation of the social partners in the events of the calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the field of employment and social policy and their support for the elaboration of a national plan for the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights was discussed.
The contribution with which Bulgaria can build on the debate on the European Pillar of Social Rights is among the most important commitments of our country during the Presidency, Deputy Minister Rusinova said. Bulgaria has set for itself the goal to complete the commitments which all EU member-states took during the official proclamation of the Pillar during the Social Summit in Gothenburg, Sweden at the end of 2017. The European Pillar of Social Rights will be the main topic of the tripartite social summit in March in Brussels. During the forum, the European ministers and social partners will discuss what the social dimension of the Multiannual Financial Framework would be in terms of commitments to implement the Pillar.
The Calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency includes a conference dedicated to the European Pillar of Social Rights on 27 June in Sofia. Among the most important events included in it is also a public debate on the future of the European Social Fund, which will be held on 15 and 16 February in Sofia.
The nationally representative employers’ organizations and trade unions will participate actively in the international conference on the “Future of Labour”, which will take place on 21 and 22 March. The conclusions of the forum will be presented during the EU Employment and Social Policy Council in June in Brussels.
