Initiatives to develop the trade and economic relations with Poland

Dr. Grażyna Chorążykiewicz, Counselor and Head of the Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Embassy of Poland in Bulgaria met with the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov. The meeting was organized on the occasion of the new 4-year term of office of Dr. Chorążykiewicz in Bulgaria.

Tsvetan Simeonov presented the latest activities of the Chamber, the tendencies for improvement of the economic situation, as well as the difficulties met by businesses. He paid special attention to the development of BCCI’s relations with Polish partners and the good cooperation with the Bulgarian – Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dr. Chorążykiewicz presented information about the new plans for the development of the bilateral trade and economic relations and upcoming bilateral events. She announced an initiative of Bulgarians in Poland to set up a Polish-Bulgarian Consultancy Cluster under the auspices of the Polish-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw.

In the course of discussion the need to update the Cooperation Agreement signed with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Poland in 2002 was ascertained. In this regard, opportunities to promote and prepare the visit of a business delegation from Poland were discussed. A positive trend in the bilateral relations was stressed – the significant change in the structure of Bulgarian exports to Poland and the larger share of processed goods.

Tsvetan Simeonov expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Dr. Chorążykiewicz, as in her person BCCI has found a good and reliable partner. BCCI will assist her in the execution of her tasks during her new term of office.
