Haskovo Province and Nineveh Province signed a cooperation agreement

A delegation from the Republic of Iraq is on a business visit to the Republic of Bulgaria at the invitation of the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the period from July 26 to August 1, 2021.

On the first day the delegation visited the city of Haskovo and was welcomed by the Regional Governor of Haskovo Minko Angelov. The Iraqi delegation consists of Mr. Sirwan Mohammad Khidir, First Deputy Governor of Nineveh and Mr. Zuhair Mousin Mohammed Al Araji, Mayor of Mosul municipality.

The meeting with the Iraqi delegation was held at the Maritsa Hall of the Haskovo District Administration. The official visit was also attended by Deputy Regional Governor Martin Uzunov, Deputy Regional Governor Violeta Zheleva and the President of the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yancho Yanev.

The delegation from Iraq thanked the regional governor Eng. Minko Angelov for the welcome. Mr. Angelov mentioned that the region is known for its cultural tourism and history. He stressed that there are many vineyards in the area and some of the highest quality wines are produced here. The mayor of Mosul Zuhair Mousin Mohammed Al Araji said Mosul was an ancient city known as the economic center of Iraq. He stressed that many foreign organizations work there and Mosul is an attractive place for investment.

The regional governor Minko Angelov and the guests from Iraq signed a cooperation agreement. Mr. Angelov expressed his willingness for future partnership and exchange of experience in the business and trade sector. The meeting in the District Administration - Haskovo ended with an exchange of gifts.

The delegation from the Republic of Iraq will hold business meetings in the cities of Smolyan, Sofia and Varna.
