New Commercial Counselor in Poland

On 12 October 2011, the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with the newly appointed Commercial Counselor of Bulgaria in Poland Angel Angelov. Mr. Angelov occupied the same position in the period 1999 – 2002 and the meeting was aimed at renewing plans for future cooperation.

Mr. Angelov said that Bulgarian export of wines and food products for Poland has been growing. There has been a larger interest for cooperation in the energy sector – several Polish companies are already working as subcontractors in the extraction and use of low-energy coal in our country, but the potential is much bigger. Besides, in the end of 2010, the Polish government decided to renew the country’s programme to build a nuclear power plant and Bulgaria can share its experience in this area.

Opportunities for exchange of business missions between Bulgaria and Poland were discussed, as well as the important role of chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries in their preparation. Mr. Angelov will provide assistance in establishing the economic sectors of mutual interest, which should be paid special attention during the missions.
