BCCI and the US Embassy in Sofia discussed the WTO’s Trade Facilitation Agreement
Stanislava Dimitrova, Senior Commercial Advisor and Milko Minev, Commercial Assistant/ Outreach Coordinator at the U.S. Commercial Service at the Embassy of the United States of America in Sofia, discussed with BCCI’s Secretary General Vasil Todorov the positive aspects of the Trade Facilitation Agreement of the World Trade Organization and support for it by the business community. The US Embassy undertook to promote the advantages of the TFA among the business associations in the WTO member-states.
Vasil Todorov said that BCCI had supported the signing of the WTA during the negotiations in 2013 and expressed hope that the Agreement would soon be ratified, because the envisaged trade facilitation might increase global GDP by more than USD 1 trillion. The benefits for developing countries would also be significant: growth of exports by over USD 570 billion and 18 million jobs created.
During the meeting, the upcoming trade exhibitions, which the US Commercial Service at the Embassy of the United States promotes regionally, were presented:
•POWER- GEN International – Las Vegas, 8-10 December 2015 (power generation)
•PACK EXPO – Las Vegas, 29 – 30 September 2015 (packaging and processing); For the first time the exhibition will take place simultaneously with Pharma EXPO, which provides a full range of solutions in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical appliances sector.
