Meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Vietnam to Bulgaria

H.E. Mr. Do Hoang Long, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Bulgaria, concurrently accredited to the Republic of North Macedonia, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In a conversation with BCCI’s President Tsvetan Simeonov, he outlined the goals of his mission, which include supporting the bilateral business cooperation.

For Vietnamese companies, Bulgaria is a gateway to the European market, an attractive place for investment and trade. "When we add the historically good bilateral relations, these factors create a very good environment for economic cooperation," Tsvetan Simeonov said.

Ambassador Long said that investment, trade and tourism are in the focus of bilateral business cooperation. After recovering from the pandemic, he hopes for more business and tourism trips in both directions.

Although he has been in Bulgaria for several weeks, the Vietnamese diplomat sees opportunities for the realization of a number of Vietnamese products on the Bulgarian market such as coffee, tea, seafood, light industry products. Simeonov said that there is potential for cooperation in the perfumery and cosmetics industries, such as exchange of raw materials, joint production and trade.

The President of BCCI acquainted his guest with the activities of the Chamber and shared other ideas for the development of bilateral economic relations. On this occasion, an exhibition of bio and environmentally friendly products from Vietnam is being prepared in Sofia in May.

Last but not least, the importance of the regular sessions of the Joint Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the two countries was noted. The next session will be held in Bulgaria.
