BCCI’s President met with the Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece

The newly appointed Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece in Sofia Mr. Dimitrios Michas visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and spoke with its President Tsvetan Simeonov. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Dimitrios Maos, First Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassy.

The President of the Chamber acquainted his guests with the history of the BCCI, its membership in international organizations, and the wide range of services and activities that the Chamber provides in support of the business community. Various aspects of the bilateral trade, economic and investment relations were discussed at the meeting.

According to data from the Ministry of Economy, in the first half of 2021 a positive trend was registered in terms of Bulgaria’s exports to Greece, compared to the same period of last year - an increase of 19%. Imports also grew at a similar rate of 15.6%, with the positive trade balance for Bulgaria remaining at EUR 168 million. Greece ranks fifth among Bulgaria’s trading partners in terms of exports.
