The Club of Joint and Foreign Chambers Selected “Wine of Summer 2011”
On 7 July 2011, the 4th meeting of the Club of Joint and Foreign Chambers and Councils took place. The host of the meeting Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry shared BCCI’s position on a number of issues important for Bulgarian business with his colleagues – chairpersons and representatives of 14 foreign and joint chambers and councils.
Mr. Simeonov presented the opinion of BCCI’s members regarding the required changes in the work of the Registry Agency. As a result of a meeting with the Minister of Justice and the Position Paper which BCCI presented to him, the first task of the government when it returns from the summer holiday in September will be to look into the funding of the Registry Agency. BCCI reckons the fees, which the Agency collects for the services it provides to companies and citizens, exceed the actual costs for the respective services significantly. Besides, according to the Chamber, the Registry Agency doesn’t have the capacity to provide high-quality services, which obstructs the business and at a certain point becomes an additional burden on entrepreneurs. If the Agency doesn’t have the necessary capacity, certain services could be outsourced for the purpose of high-quality and professional service.
Mr. Simeonov also presented BCCI’s position regarding the changes in the Public Procurement Act. A lively discussion on the main points in the position paper was held. The participants in the meeting agreed that the foreign and joint chambers will share the opinions of their members regarding the mentioned topics with BCCI.
After the official part, an anonymous wine tasting was held of Austrian, Bulgarian, Italian, Slovenian and Hungarian wines. 15 types of wine were tasted among which 8 white, 5 red and 2 rosé wines. Two professional tasters provided the participants with tasting advice and discussed the qualities of the various wines. The wines were evaluated by their colour, flavour, taste and general impression completely anonymously. Thus a classification “Wine of Summer 2011” was made and the most preferred products were selected.
The winners in the three categories are as follows:
