Meeting with H.E. Ion Galea, Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria

Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov had talks with H.E. Ion Galea, Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria, and Radu Moldovan, Sales Advisor at the Romanian Embassy. The main topics of the conversation were the foreign economic cooperation between the two countries, the joint work within the EU and other regional initiatives.

Particular attention has been paid to the forthcoming summit of the heads of states of the Three Seas Initiative countries, which will take place in September this year in Bucharest. The Initiative includes 12 countries - Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, located between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas.

Two meetings have already taken place in line with the Three Seas Initiative - the first one in Dubrovnik in 2016 and the second one in Warsaw in 2017.

BCCI confirmed the interest of Bulgarian companies to participate in a parallel business and economic forum that will complement the summit in Bucharest. Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov welcomed the efforts at state level to combine the two events, which main purpose is to strengthen economic and political ties in the north-south direction. Business, for its part, attaches utmost importance to these relations and the signal at the level of the heads of state is positive for their development.

An exchange of useful information in relation to the upcoming meeting has been agreed upon and the BCCI will further notify its members about the opportunity to participate in the economic event in the autumn in the Romanian capital.
