BCCI awarded the most successful Commercial and Economic Offices

At an official ceremony held on 9th July 2015 in BCCI’s headquarters, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry bestowed awards on the most successful Commercial and Economic Offices of Bulgaria abroad for 2014.

The Commercial and Economic Office of Bulgaria in India received first award – bronze statuette “Hermes” and a Diploma. The award was granted for increase of Bulgarian exports, growth of investments and a positive change in number of foreign tourists who visited Bulgaria, as well as for active cooperation with the Bulgarian business and support for achieving the tasks and goals of BCCI.

Second place in the classification was occupied by the Commercial and Economic Office of the Republic of Bulgaria in Romania, which was awarded with an Honorary Diploma.

The third place went to the Commercial and Economic Office of Bulgaria in the USA which also received an Honorary Diploma from BCCI.

There are other commercial and economic sections which deserve a high praise for their active work in 2014, such as the Bulgarian commercial and economic offices in Morocco, Vietnam, and Macedonia but the regulations do not allow an award to be received in two consecutive years.

The other nominees – the Commercial and Economic Office in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Commercial and Economic Office in Italy and the Commercial and Economic Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan also received prizes.

BCCI in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy approved the method for nominating and awarding the commercial and economic offices. All the commercial and economic offices were nominated according to the same criteria as follows:

Exports, investments and tourists, including:
Share of Bulgarian exports for the respective country in 2014 out of the total exports for the countries with commercial and economic office;
Increase of exports in 2014 in comparison to 2013;

Increase of investments in 2014 in comparison to 2013;

Increase of the number of tourists in 2014 in comparison to 2013.

Active cooperation with BCCI and Bulgarian business (providing and circulating business information, assistance during business visits to the respective country, organizing business forums and meeting, assistance for recruiting participants for exhibitions in Bulgaria).

The overall evaluation of the Ministry of Economy for the work of the commercial and economic sections also influences the classification.

The Vice-President of BCCI Georgi Stoev who led the ceremony greeted the award winners and wished all Bulgarian commercial and economic offices to continue their active work and to participate successfully in next year’s classification.
