BCCI took up the rotating Presidency of the BSEC Business Council



BCCI took up the Presidency of the Business Council with the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) within the Bulgarian Presidency of BSEC. This was confirmed on 9th December 2013 at the 47th regular meeting of the Business Council in the city of Yerevan, Armenia, after Albania and Azerbaijan turned the rotating presidency aside.  At the meeting the Chamber presented the program for the period January – June 2014. 
BCCI’s priorities during the Presidency will be transport, logistics, regional cooperation, promotion of SMEs and security. 
Since the beginning of this year the Chamber is quite active in preparing events aimed at intensifying the relations between the countries of the Black Sea Region, including the European policy of interaction (synergy) with the countries of this region and increasing the visibility of the Organisation in the EU. Emphasis will be put on the project-oriented approach in the regional cooperation. 
Among the planned events is the 48th Meeting of the Board of Directors which is scheduled to be held during the "Security Expo" 2014 exhibition, in the period 19th – 22nd March 2014 in Sofia. BCCI will provide the BSEC Chambers with a joint stand during the exhibition. Together with the Executive Agency for promoting SMEs a business forum will be organized with companies from the Black Sea Region. 
Another event is scheduled for May 2014 along with a business forum on transport and logistics in the context of implementing the flagship transport infrastructure projects of BSEC, namely the Black Sea Ring Highway project and the project on the development of the Motorways of the Sea in the BSEC Region.
