At a press conference Tsvetan Simeonov, BCCI’s President, announced the results of the economic survey of Eurochambres (the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry), which was held for the 20th consecutive year.

The forecast for the economic indicators in Bulgaria for 2013 is as follows:

- The destabilizing effect on business of this prolonged period of economic turmoil will continue to dominate in 2013 as well;

- The results show that the business climate is at the historical minimum in 2013, but on the other hand there are relatively favorable values for some other parameters. Signs of rapid recovery are but a few, the impression being that 2013 is expected to be another tough year for Europe.

- The economic outlook for sales in foreign markets are a key factor to growth for European countries, this indicator registered the greatest optimism for 2013 in the EU Member States.

Tsvetan Simeonov explained that Bulgaria should expand its position outside the EU as well. BCCI aims to focus and increase export opportunities in countries not only in the EU. More serious investments are expected to come from the Far East. The interest of from Greece and France in Bulgaria is another element of optimism. Other exotic markets such as Iraqi Kurdistan are also in the process of development.
