On 9 March 2022, a regular annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held. In connection with the epidemic situation, the meeting took place online. The Board adopted the Report on the activity of the Chamber in 2021, BCCI’s Annual Financial Report for 2021, the Position of the Executive Council on the Report for 2021, and the Report on the activity of the Supervisory Council in 2021.
Presenting the Report on the activity, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov noted that the Chamber fulfilled the set goals, plans and priorities for 2021. With its numerous positions and opinions BCCI proposed formulas and solutions for the protection of Bulgarian business. Despite the complex health and economic situation, in 2021 the Chamber issued over 37,000 trade documents, organized 244 business forums and meetings, establishing contacts and partnerships with businesses from 63 countries. Seminars and trainings under EU programmes and projects were held with the virtual participation of over 2,500 specialists.
In order to fulfill the forthcoming goals and objectives of the Chamber, the Board of Directors adopted the Programme for the activity and the Budget of BCCI for 2022.
The members of the Board of Directors praised highly the activity and financial results of the Chamber for last year. In order to improve the conditions for doing business, the Board envisaged the BCCI to focus its work on the resilience of enterprises in conditions of uncertainty and global turbulent processes. It was recommended the digitalization of services to continue, as well as to intensify the initiatives aimed at young entrepreneurs.
The Chamber’s Programme for 2022 is a document open for supplementation and updating in accordance with the economic situation in the country, it can also be complemented and improved with ideas and suggestions by members and partners, companies and branch organizations.
