The conference to promote trade and investment cooperation between Bulgaria and China, Sichuan, organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade - Sichuan (CCPIT), was extremely successful. More than 70 business representatives from both countries took part in the event.
The event was officially opened by Mrs. Huang Li, the chairman of CCPIT Sichuan, who expressed her gratitude to all the participants and shared that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China. She expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation and defined the mission as the first step to intensify relations with Sichuan province. Mrs. Huang Li emphasized that promising sectors for cooperation are: agriculture, information technology, food industry, equipment and advanced technology, etc.
Tsvetan Simeonov expressed special thanks to the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade - Sichuan, the Embassy of China in Sofia, the participants and all present for their commitment to the strengthening and development of bilateral relations. Simeonov confirmed the readiness of the Chamber to assist in the development of bilateral relations with China. The companies that are part of the delegation have every chance to find their partners today, because mechanical engineering, agriculture, food industry are quite well developed sectors in Bulgaria, said Simeonov. He expressed confidence that after the forum, businesses from both countries will be encouraged to take new steps not only towards commercial exchange, but also towards investments, and that Bulgaria will be chosen as one of the starting points for working with the European Union. There is also potential for cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, noted Simeonov
Mrs. Wang Min, temporary manager of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Sofia noted that the economy of the Asian country is recovering at a rapid pace. She identified the production of electric cars, photovoltaic installations and lithium-ion batteries as key sectors in the Chinese economy. Ms. Wang Ming also emphasized China's highly skilled workforce and good infrastructure.
Mila Nenova, executive director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, presented the bilateral trade with China and emphasized the advantages of the Bulgarian market and the country's economic stability. She emphasized the fastest growing sectors in Bulgaria, as well as the incentives for investors in the country.
During the conference, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the BCCI and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade - Sichuan.
After the official part, bilateral meetings were held between Bulgarian and Chinese companies. The delegation from China included companies from the sectors: construction engineering, manufacturing of high-tech cleaning robots, air cleaning room equipment, machinery and tools, underground construction equipment, drilling, transmission parts, etc.
A contract was concluded between the Chinese company Sichuan Taren Technology Co and the Bulgarian "K - industry" EOOD in the field of distribution of cleaning robots.
The leadership of the BCCI also held a separate meeting with the delegation from Sichuan, where details were presented about the economic situation in Bulgaria and China, the main macroeconomic indicators and tax policy. During the meeting, the routes and projects under the "One Belt, One Road" initiative were discussed. Simeonov shared that Bulgaria is a good place for investments, emphasizing low taxes, low government debt and stable macroeconomic indicators. The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry introduced his guests to the activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the voluntary commercial register and the advantages of arbitration proceedings.
Mrs. Huang Li, Chairman of CCPIT Sichuan introduced the province, which is the 4th largest in China, with developed industry and agriculture. She pointed out that every initiative of China to develop international trade goes through Sichuan.
A discussion followed regarding the possibilities of the Bulgarian market, the import of labor, the incentives of the government to promote investments, etc.
