As Chairman of the Advisory Group EU – Korea, Georgi Stoev took part in the seminar “Korea’s Trade Policies under the New Government”, organized by the European Centre for International Political Economy and Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies.
The Vice-President of BCCI introduced the forum participants to the European Commission’s report on the decisions of the 5th joint meeting of the Advisory Group of the EU – Korea FTA, and had a meeting with Professor Dukgeun Ahn, Associate Dean in Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS), Seoul National University.
Professor Ahn pointed out that in addition to the FTA with the European Union, South Korea has signed trade agreements with the United States, India and China, but faces various difficult challenges in terms of trade policies and resolution of trade conflicts, as well as of prospects for commercial disputes with China. This called for the adoption of a new, and distinctively different, organizational structure in Korea.
Georgi Stoev invited the participants to visit BCCI during the upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU and to meet members of the joint chambers in Bulgaria
