Proposals for new measures to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus crisis on the activity of enterprises and the Bulgarian economy during the second wave of COVID-19

The nationally representative employers' organizations in Bulgaria - the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA), the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA), the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB), united in the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE), sent to the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, the Minister of Finance Kiril Ananiev and the Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov proposals for new measures to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus crisis on the activities of enterprises and the Bulgarian economy during the second wave of COVID-19.

The employers' organizations share the belief that timely, well-thought-out and coordinated measures will lead to the preservation of the economic activity and sustaining of potential that will allow the rapid recovery of the economy. Such measures are in full compliance with Community Law and are grouped in 2 main areas:

  1. Aid compatible with the internal market pursuant to Article 107, para 3 (b) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
  1.  Aid in the form of deferred taxes and/or deferred social security contributions.

According to the employers, businesses can no longer be closed without starting at the same time support measures for businesses and the people.
