Balkans International Wine Competition and Festival 2017, supported by BCCI



The largest wine forum in the Balkans - the Balkans International Wine Competition and Festival 2017 (BIWC 2017), will be held in Sofia from 1st  until 4th June 2017 for the 6th time in the garden of Grand Hotel Sofia. The event is held annually in Sofia and involves the best winemakers from all Balkan countries.

BIWC 2017 consists of two parts:

  • Wine Competition BIWC on 1-4 June 2017
  • Wine Festival - specialized trade tasting for  importers, buyers, distributors, wine journalists, bloggers and the BIWC 2017 jury - 3 June , Saturday - from 12:00 AM until 01:00 PM.

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an organization encouraging Bulgarian manufacturers, for the 6thconsecutive year supports the Bulgarian Wine Festival initiative, confident that cooperation and contacts between Balkan companies will make goods from the region competitive at the European and world markets.

Why the Balkans?

  • The Balkans local grape varieties are at least as rich as rich is the spirit of the people in the region
  • With nearly 1.8 million tons wine production per year, the BALKANS rank 5th in the world, right after the largest wine producing countries - Italy, France, Spain and the USA
