MEMBERSHIP WITH BCCI
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an independent, private-law organization of the business circles in Bulgaria, for the 105 years since its establishment has always targeted its aims and purposes at assisting, promoting, representing and protecting the economic interests of the Bulgarian business – industrialists, producers and tradesmen.
The membership with BCCI is voluntary. The Chamber has direct, associate, honorary and correspondent members.
BCCI is a universal organization. Its members can be juridical and physical persons, duly incorporated and involved in economic activity, as well as associations, unions, organizations, groups, etc. promoting the economic activity. There is no obstacle for individual members of such organizations to become members of the Chamber independently.
The companies’ membership with BCCI enables them to take an active part, with their ideas and proposals, in the amelioration of the economic environment. This is made possible by the meetings and events organized by the Chamber for a discussion of various projects for amendments of the legislation, the foreign trade regime, etc. Thå generalized standpoint on the discussed issues are submittåd by BCCI to thå respective governmental bodies and institutions.
The Chamber is functioning fully and efficiently within the system of chambers of commerce worldwide. It is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, the World Trade Centers Association, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry – Eurochambres, Brussels, the Association of the Balkan Chambers, the Association of Black Sea Zone Chambers of Commerce, the International Exhibitions Bureau, and, it is a part of the international chain of chambers of commerce. There are six EuroInfoCentres within the system of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – in Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Yambol, Dobrich and Vratsa.
The membership of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with international institutions makes it an internationally acknowledged institution authorized to issue and validate various foreign trade documents. This circumstance is regulated by its Statute, by the Law on Customs, the Rules for its application and by a number of international conventions.
In order to be able to carry out these activities, the Chamber maintains a Unified Trade Register where the associate members of BCCI are filed.
To facilitate and assist the activity of its members, the Chamber offers them various services free of charge, or, at preferential rates.
