Bulgarian-Turkish Economic Council
Established in 1996 between the BCCI and DEIK (the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey), the Council is extremely active. Regular business meetings between entrepreneurs of both sides are held annually. Information on supply and demand is exchanged through direct electronic links, participation in fairs and specialized exhibitions are organized.
On March 16th, 2016 a regular meeting of the Bulgarian side of the Joint Business Council Bulgaria-Turkey was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov. The Rules of Procedure of the Council were updated, and the position of vice chairman was granted to Nikolin Gavrailov, president of the Bulgarian Entrepreneurial Chamber in Building. The Board of Directors of the Council was also renewed:
After the regular session, a discussion with representatives of the Turkish-Bulgarian Economic Council followed. The participants in the Turkish delegation were representatives of major Turkish companies in leading sectors, such as telecommunications, electronics, logistics, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, IT, chemical and textile industry. The Turkish delegation was led by the newly-elected president of the Turkish-Bulgarian Economic Council, Mr. Osman Ak.
