New documents intensify business relations between Bulgaria and Portugal

Joint Bulgarian – Portuguese Chamber of Commerce was established in the presence of the Heads of State of Bulgaria and Portugal Rosen Plevneliev and Anibal Cavaco Silva during a business forum in Sofia. Memorandums of Understanding were signed between the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal, on the one hand, and the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency and the Bulgarian Investment Agency, on the other. 
 
According to the Bulgarian President, the signing of the documents is an indisputable success and a reason for pride because they will further strengthen the cooperation between Bulgaria and Portugal.  Rosen Plevneliev emphasized the contribution of BCCI and the Portuguese Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade and thanked them for co-organizing the forum. The President of Portugal Anibal Cavaco Silva testified to Portugal’s openness to economic cooperation.
 
More than 100 business leaders took part in the forum organized jointly by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, the Embassy of Portugal in Sofia and the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal.
 
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov who opened and moderated the forum noted that the Chamber’s cooperation with Portuguese partners has a long history of more than 30 years. He expressed hope that the newly-established chamber and the new agreements will give a new boost to the bilateral cooperation and confirmed BCCI’s readiness to assist companies from Bulgaria and Portugal. The two countries can complement each other in the automotive industry, the food industry, construction and other sectors, Mr. Simeonov explained. 
 
At the forum, which was held with the participation of the Bulgarian Minister of Economy Bozhidar Loukarski and his Portuguese counterpart Antonio Pires de Lima, Bulgarian and Portuguese companies and entrepreneurs exchanged good business practices.
