Economic affairs “Bulgaria – Ukraine” were discussed at the BCCI





Bilateral trade between Bulgaria and Ukraine was discussed at a meeting between H.E. Mykola Baltazhi – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Bulgaria, Martin Martinyuk – Commercial Counselor at the Embassy, and Tsvetan Simeonov – President of the BCCI. 
 
It was noted that in the first quarter of 2014 the trade volume between the two countries decreased by 10% compared to the previous year. In 2013 it amounted to 1.330 million euro. This year it is expected that the same level is to be reached. 
 
Subject to discussion was also the economic situation in Ukraine, the reforms conducted by the Ukrainian government in view of the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement, the ongoing conflicts in this region and energy security of the state. 
 
H.E. Mykola Baltazhi said that this autumn a donor conference will be held in support to Ukraine, prepared jointly with the European Commission.
 
Tsvetan Simeonov expressed willingness on behalf of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and of its members, to render assistance to Ukrainian companies in finding partners in Bulgaria and the region, and towards re-orientation of the trade and economic relations to the EU.
