Lebanon-Bulgarian business forum was held in Beirut







Bulgarian business delegation, organized by the BCCI, is visiting Lebanon. The business program began with a meeting in the Investment and Development Agency of Lebanon  (IDAL). Nabil Itani, Director General of IDAL, presented the business climate in Lebanon, focusing on incentives to attract foreign investments. He has highlighted that Lebanon offers access of Bulgarian companies to other Arab countries.

The delegation participated in the Lebanon-Bulgarian business forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry  and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon and in cooperation with the Joint Councils of Bulgaria and Lebanon. At the official opening of the forum Mr.Mohamed Choucair, President of the host Chamber, noted that by entering the Lebanese market Bulgarian companies will have the opportunity to participate in the reconstruction of infrastructure projects in Syria.

The President of BCCI Mr.Tsvetan Simeonov, Head of the Bulgarian delegation, presented the current economic situation in Bulgaria and the main advantages of our country - favorable investment climate and stable tax system. He focused on sectors of mutual interest: machinery in the food industry, automotive industry, agriculture, information and computer technologies. Mr.Simeonov expressed the willingness of the BCCI to assist businesses from Lebanon and Bulgaria and expressed hope that the forum will contribute to intensification of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Ms. Suzan Mouzi, Embassy chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Lebanese Republic to the Republic of Bulgaria and Mr. Petko Dimitrov, Embassy chargé d'affaires ad interim of Bulgaria to Beirut greeted the participants.

Ahmad Aladeen, Chairman of the Lebanon-Bulgarian Business Council, presented an honorary plaque to the BCCI for development of bilateral relations. It was announced that a visit of a Lebanese delegation to Bulgaria in the coming months is discussed.

More than 90 Lebanese companies and representatives of various business organizations participated in bilateral meetings with the aim of finding partners from Bulgaria.
