Bulgarian – Algerian Business Forum held in Sofia

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov welcomed the participants in a Bulgarian – Algerian Business Forum in Sofia. He pointed out that BCCI will continue to inform the business about investment opportunities in Algeria and Bulgaria in order to enhance the Bulgarian – Algerian economic relation. “BCCI assesses positively the development tendencies in Algeria. We are ready to assist companies both through the entirely digitized trade register with more than 40 000 companies entered in it and trough the Arbitration Court at BCCI – esteemed institution for out-of-court settlement of commercial disputes through arbitration and other alternative means, with 120-year-old tradition. The Arbitration Court is a leading institution in South-eastern Europe in its degree of digitalization, number of filed and solved cases”, the President of the Chamber pointed out.

During the Business Forum it became clear that the Algerian market offers good perspectives for exports of Bulgarian foods, beverages, medicines and other pharmaceutical products, medical equipment, apparel, machinery, equipment and machinery for the food and processing industries. Bulgarian companies can successfully position themselves in Algerian construction and energy sectors.

Trade turnover between the Republic of Bulgaria and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in 2015 amounted to USD 88.4 B. In the period 2000 – 2015 the trade balance was positive for Bulgaria, reaching its highest level of USD 211.26 M in 2014.
