The Bulgarian-Jordan Chamber for Economic Cooperation is a self-managing, independent and non-political association with non-economic aim.
The basic task of the Bulgarian-Jordan Chamber is to promote and assist alone or in a cooperation with governmental bodies, private or social corporations or amalgamations the development of trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Bulgarian-Jordan Chamber for Economic Cooperation has won recognition in the sphere of bilateral cooperation. The cooperation with some of the state bodies and institutions, as well as with some non-government associations has already become traditional. Agreements for cooperation have been signed with: the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association, Bulgarian Tourism Chamber, the Bulgarian Association of Tourism Agencies, the Foreign Investment Agency; Bulgarian Export Promotion Centre; Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; the Defence Industry Association; Foundation "Hemus"; Sliven Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Similar Agreement was recently signed with the Bulgarian Industrial Association.
The Bulgarian-Jordan Chamber has initiated and assisted the establishment of direct contacts and cooperation among a row of Bulgarian and Jordanian institutions or organisations: the Municipality of Sofia and the Municipality of Greater Amman (an agreement for direct cooperation has been signed); the Bulgarian Export Promotion Centre and the Jordanian Export Development Corporation (an agreement for direct cooperation has been negotiated); the Foreign Investment Agency and the Jordanian Investment Promotion Corporation; the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Jordanian Chambers of Commerce (an agreement for direct cooperation has been signed); Foundation "Hemus" and the Organisational Committee of the Jordanian military exhibition "Sofex" 2000 (an agreement for direct cooperation has been negotiated); the Union of Bulgarian Journalists and the Jordanian Press Association (an agreement for direct cooperation has been signed); the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency and the Jordanian Telegraph Agency "Petra" (a draft agreement for direct cooperation has been handed to the Jordanian side).
