1.4. Phytosanitary Control

The phytosanitary control at Bulgarian border crossing points is made by the National Service for Plant Protection, Quarantine and Agrochemistry with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests.

The following groups of goods are subject to a phytosanitary control:

  • Plants and seeds
  • Vegetal produce
  • Nutrient media, vehicles and packages of plants and vegetal products.

Border phytosanitary control is available only at the border crossing points indicated on fig. 37.

1.4.1. Documents, Required by Phytosanitary Control Authorities at the Export of Plants and Vegetal Products
For the export of plants and vegetal products, Phytosanitary control bodies require:
  • Phytosanitary certificate, if the importing country requires such one

For the re-exportation of plants and vegetal products, phytosanitary authorities require:
  • Phytosanitary certificate, if the importing country requires such one
  • Phytosanitary certificate (a validated copy or original), issued by the first exporting country.
1.4.3. Charges, Paid for Phytosanitary Control
The charges collected for the phytosanitary control are set by Tariff of Charges Collected by the National Service on Plant Protection, Quarantine and Agrochemistry with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests.
